As you said you believe in biblical innerancy I assume you do not believe in evolution. Why do you think a bronze-age creation myth outweighs the enormous body of evidence supporting the theory of evolution?Hey there. Creation is not a myth that is in conflict with the evidence. The evidence for Creation and evolution is the same evidence - it just depends how you interpret it. The simple answer is that the evidence fits far better with the Creation account than it does with the evolution account and for a young earth (thousands of years old) rather than an old earth (millions of years old). Please note when I say that I do not believe in evolution, I am talking about macro-evolution, which has never been observed, as opposed to micro-evolution, which has been observed.Consider these things: We have never observed living organisms generate from non-living organisms. We have never observed order coming from randomness and chaos. Law does not exist without a lawgiver. If humans can not create something as sophisticated as some of the things found in the natural world (such as the human body), then how can we possibly attribute this amazing level of sophistication to random chance? You would never assume that a pair of glasses had come into existence through a series of random mutations, so why would you assume that something much more complex than a pair of glasses, like the human eye, could have come into existence through random chance? The assumption that macroevolution is true determines the outcome of your conclusions about the evidence. Atheism demands that evolution be the source of origins, so however improbable it may be, those who do not want to believe in a God can always find a way to align the evidence to evolution, since it is the only conclusion they have decided is plausible. The evidence, as examined without bias, is strikingly in favor of a young earth and a Creator. More answers about Creation vs. evolution can be found here.
