One of by biggest problems with Abortion is that it is such a huge deal in America.

That’s probably because some of us see it as legalized murder.

Women should have the right to be in control of their bodies.

Agreed. However, the fetus is genetically unique, and therefore is not the woman’s body. So, if all humans have a right to their own body, the fetus also has a right to its own body.

A zygote should not have more rights than an Adult.

Hold the phone: If a zygote is human—which it must be, according to the law of bio-genesis (living things reproduce after their own kind)—then at what point does said fetus develop such rights? Are we allowed to take rights like life away from people because they are not fully developed? Can I kill a new-born if it begins to infringe on my perceived rights? What’s the cut-off age?

Banning Abortion will not end it. It will just make it more dangerous.

So just because something is wrong doesn’t mean we should make it illegal if it also makes that action more dangerous? That seems like a very productive means of legislation.

End of story.

Now let’s let same-sex couples get married.

Or we could talk about the kids that are already living their lives and are being screwed by crappy education, or being left in orphanages, or the kids that are in debt because of student loans and can’t get a job.

I’m just saying we have bigger problems than abortion, America.

That all depends on whether or not the fetus is a human being. If it is, then roughly 3,300 human beings are legally murdered every day. If it isn’t a human, then you have a point, and all us lifers should pick a more important issue to fight so vehemently for. But the truth is that the nature of the fetus is the central issue in the abortion debate.
